Cancellation and refund eligibility depends on the cancellation policy applicable to each individual booking. Because different hotels, villas, resorts, farmhouses, and homestays may have different policies, the applicable policy will be shown during the booking process where available.
1. Guest cancellation
A guest may cancel a booking through the available BharatStey cancellation process. The refund, if any, will depend on the cancellation terms applicable to that booking.
2. Free cancellation
Where a booking offers free cancellation, the booking may be cancelled within the stated cancellation period without the applicable cancellation penalty.
3. Partial refund
Some properties may offer partial refunds depending on the cancellation date.
4. Non-refundable bookings
Certain bookings may be marked as non-refundable. For non-refundable bookings, cancellation may result in no refund or a limited refund as specifically stated during booking.
5. No-show
If a guest does not arrive for the booking without cancelling it, the booking may be treated as a no-show. Refund eligibility will depend on the applicable property policy.
6. Early departure
Leaving the property before the scheduled check-out date does not automatically entitle the guest to a refund. Any refund will depend on the applicable cancellation policy.
7. Host cancellation
If a host cancels a confirmed booking, BharatStey may assist the guest with alternative accommodation, rebooking, refund, or other available resolution, subject to availability and applicable circumstances.
8. Refund processing
Approved refunds may be processed through the original payment method where possible. The time required for the refund to appear in the user's account may depend on the payment gateway, bank, card issuer, and payment method.
9. Failed booking but payment deducted
If payment is deducted but the booking is not confirmed, the user should contact BharatStey with the transaction ID, booking attempt details, payment date, amount, and registered email or mobile number.
10. Duplicate payment
If a duplicate payment is identified and confirmed, BharatStey may process the eligible refund through the applicable payment method.
11. Refund exclusions
Certain charges may be non-refundable where clearly disclosed before booking, subject to applicable law.
12. Force majeure
Where cancellation occurs due to extraordinary circumstances, the applicable resolution will depend on the property policy, applicable law, circumstances, and payment conditions.
